Where book data comes from
With every scan, Paginor queries several national libraries and Open Library at the same time and merges the results.
The sources
| Source | Strong for |
|---|---|
| Deutsche Nationalbibliothek (DNB) | German-language books, descriptions, covers |
| Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) | French books |
| Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE) | Spanish books |
| Library of Congress (LOC) | English-language books |
| Open Library | international editions, covers, descriptions |
The list is also available under Settings › “Metadata Sources”. For each detail, Paginor uses the best available source, and for the description the most detailed text.

When data is missing
- If the cover is missing, Paginor shows a cloth binding. Add your own photo.
- If the description is missing or a title is incomplete, try Reload Metadata.
- If no source finds anything, the book is called “Unknown Book”. Enter the details yourself.
